The First Wedding Dress

During 16th century, the imperial family of Ireland was fond of hunting. One summer afternoon, the aristocracy of imperial family went to a village located in north Ireland for haunting. On their way, they met Miss Rose by accident. Count Richard was attracted by Miss Rose at the first sight. His handsome face also left a great impression on Rose’s mind.

After returning to the palace, Count Richard could not stop thinking about Rose. At that time, marriage between different social levels was not accepted by the feudalism. However, the brave Richard still made his proposal to marry Rose.

The whole imperial family was opposed to this proposal. In order to make Richard drop his idea to marry Rose, they made a request which seemed to be impossible for Rose to finish. They asked Rose to sew a white robe for their wedding dress within one night time. And the white robe should be long enough to cover the aisle from the front of the imperial church to its gate.

Once after the request being made, Richard was totally upset. But Miss Rose did not think so. She and the residents of the village stayed up all night and cooperated together to make the white gown. Before dawn, a 16 meters long white wedding dress was completed. It was simple but also delicate and gorgeous.

When Rose presented the white robe to the imperial family, they were all moved by her sincerity. As promised, they agreed Richard to marry Rose. The white robe was the first formal wedding dress all over the world.

Nelly called me with an excited voice: I have found a part-time job! “Er, what kind of job?” And then was her tactics- force me to guess.
