White represents affluence because a white prom dresses could only be worn once (think deb balls weddings etc) and the trend was started by Queen Victoria because she had the money to wear a gown only once where as everyone else got married in sunday best Not most people wear white when they go to a wedding, only the bride. I myself am no longer a virgin and plan to wear a white Bridesmaid dresses at my wedding, because that is part of my dreams of being a bride. It all depends on her style. I guess we’re just used to looking for a white chewp wedding dresses, because it would look pretty stupid to walk down the aisle wearing a hot pink dress, or something. Leave the colors for prom dresses or quinceaneras dresses, for the cheap wedding dresses, go white. She looked amazing in her pure white dress. Everyone actually thought she looked much thinner in it! If it is a well made quinceanera dresses, any color will make you look thinner. I am very pale and a size 16 as well. The white Bridesmaid dresses made me look like a giant marshmellow puff! It was not good. I was leaning toward ivory/champagne/gold and that what I ended up with.
