The Story of Breitling

Have you ever observed the logo of Breitling watch carefully? Today, a story about it would be shared with us.

The logo was made up with a pair of wings with a ship anchor in the middle. And there is a beautiful “B”, which stands for Breitling on the top of the ship anchor.

Wings are always related to the flying. This is also applicable regarding to the logo of Breitling. Being the official supplier to Royal Air Force and American Air Forces, the name of the company is closely connected with the history of aviation. It produced various instruments for the aviation area. The most known is Chronomat – the first slide-rule chronograph and also Navitimer the first wrist navigation device. It is also the best witness for the golden age of propeller aircraft.

The shipping anchor in the logo shows Beitling’s relationship with the Ocean. This can be reflected by its strong waterproof function. The deep sea series can withstand water-stress of 1000 meters under the sea level. And its special design of helium escape valves prevents the watch from water much better than the normal watches. This made the Breitling watch’s foray into Ocean possible.

The “B” in the logo, except for its symbolic mean for Breitling, now gains a new meaning. Because of the latest cooperation between Breitling watch and Bentley car, the “B” now also stands for this famous car brand. As there were many kinds of cooperation which Breitling did with aviation and voyage, the cooperation between Breitling and Bentley fills the blank of the cooperation field on land.
